Major Duties:
Oversees accounts receivable and outstanding account reimbursement functions. Identifies, audits, posts, and collects from third party health plan carriers for outpatient clients to recover maximum dollars. Reviewing and processing a wide variety of transactions and compiling reports for third party billing activities and accounts. Work requires identifying the type of transactions; extracting, compiling and verifying utilization of billing date; computing and adjusting account balances, comparing required forms and records; submitting and maintaining current assignment of benefits. Work with large integrated data system that includes medical, fiscal, and management data store in numerous related computer files. Coordinates collections for the third party reimbursement program. Develops statistical reports and control methods in determining receivables and collections. Responsible for reviewing for accurate processing of initial claims. Reviews patient accounts to determine the status of the account, making standard adjustments that require it. Responsible to review for accurate processing all of billing for all denials and payments of initial claims; analyze, prepare and process a variety of documents necessary for the maintenance and follow-up of all outstanding patient accounts in A/R. Responsible for reviewing any denials in accordance with service unit policy and procedures. Monitor accounts balances, review posting to ensure accuracy and recommend appropriate corrective action. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- GS-0540-07:
(1) one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Examples include:
Audit , process, examine and ensure compliance with established regulations and justification of vouchers, invoices, claims and other requests for payment; verify requests made against the record of what was authorized; Enter information into an automated financial accounting system for processing a payment; Exports reports and information from an automated system; Research and troubleshoot problems encountered with submitted vouchers for payment for automated systems and computer applications, i.e., Microsoft programs ( excel, word, PowerPoint, email); understand and work with excel spreadsheets. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
