Supervisory Pharmacist (Deputy Chief) - Now Hiring

DutiesLead and monitor the pharmacy division and responsible for the total operation of pharmacy services for the facility.
Formulates and implements overall pharmacy programs and plans to satisfy varying patient load requirements, adjusts staffing to ensure comprehensive services and meet other health care objectives.
Supervises and assigns work to employees in an efficient and selective manner to achieve satisfactory quality of health care and operations to maintain facility accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Ensures all pharmacy policies and procedures are accurate and conforming to regulations.
Maintains an adequate supply of pharmaceuticals and supplies, actively managing department budget and procurement processes, and ensures the formulary meets the needs of the facility.
Day-to-day Pharmacy operations which includes providing leadership, direction and technical expertise in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the delivery of operational, procedural, and logistical integrity.
Serves as a senior pharmacist clinician, mentors and educates others This position is being announced concurrently under Excepted Service Examining Plan/Merit Promotion Plan (ESEP/MPP) procedures.

Work Schedule:
Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education:
A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.
S.
Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure:
Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Experience:
Applicant's qualifications background must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary to perform the work of the position.
Pharmacy work requires knowledge of the use, clinical effects, and composition of medications, including their chemical, biological, and physical properties.
Qualifying professional pharmacy experience may involve, but is not limited to:
Dispensing medications prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and providing information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage of medications and side effects;Evaluating medication use patterns and outcomes for patients in hospitals or managed care organizations;Performing administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work for a medical facility's pharmacy program;Planning, monitoring and evaluating medication programs or regimens;Establishing medication-handling procedures for the storage and preservation of medications;Researching medical literature and/or clinical medication information to provide accurate responses to inquiries; and/orMaintaining all medication records required by law.

MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Knowledge and experience with leadership roles for departmental budgets, training requirements for department, recruitment for vacancies, departmental schedules and evaluating performance for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, Organize, plan, direct, evaluate, and implement comprehensive pharmacy services that meets national professional standards.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Additional informationFederal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
